Welcome to our weekly update, a highlights package of what's been going down at Repressed Records.
Firstly, what have we enjoyed listening to this week?
Our new cassette deck has been getting a good work out! Back on the Enderie cheer squad, especially the II tape on Paradise Daily. The Oily Boys “promotional tape” comeback is an absolute belter and back listening to Wolf Shield, which is Randy from Massappeal and Tra La La Blip in electronic mode. The Radio Birdman - Live At Paddington Town Hall two lp set is probably the best thing i’ve heard of theirs. I love the more physical live edge to it. I’ve listed to Riff Raff by AC/DC seventy three times this week. R.I.P Malcolm. Powerage is the best Australian album EVER. Can’t wait to get my paws on the new Total Control EP. The Stevens - Good is back in stock, hence back on the turntable. Easily one of our favourite albums of the year.
Total Control - Laughing at The System EP Excellent new 12” on UK label ALTER who also did the Lowlife re-issue. Sounds like some of their best stuff to my ears. (Due Dec 12th. Available For pre-order NOW)
Traxman - Tekvision LP (due 12th Dec) A prodigious crate digger, Traxman has provided the sample sources for many of Footwork’s classic tracks over the years. A mainstay of the Chicago underground, with a discography stretching back to the golden era of Dance Mania Records in the 1990s
Carla Del Forno - The Garden LP (Due 12th Dec) An EP from Carla dal Forno containing four new, obliquely confessional dispatches. For fans of dreamy stuff like of Stereolab, Broadcast or Saint Etienne. Former member of Melbourne group Mole House and had an earlier association with Blackest Ever Black as a member of F ingers and Tarcar.
Red Red Krovvy / Milk Split Cassette (Due Friday) All the way from Japan on the Blackhole label, a great punk split tape featuring our own Red Red Krovvy and Japanese band Milk. Get in quick!
Don't forget we have GIFT VOUCHERS if you're stuck for Christmas Ideas. Available instore and online here too!
UK Import shipment coming with Total Control: Due December 12th
DJ Tre - The Underdog EP Debut EP for Hyperdub. Features a sparse and minimalist take on footwork but he's got a knack of adding in tight little switches and details
The Raincoats _ Self Titled (Coloured Vinyl) 1979 UK D.I.Y classic on coloured vinyl.
Stooges - Heavy Liquid (2 LP) Heavy Liquid is a document of what went on in the studio around the time the band were recording their mighty Raw Power, and it consists of some truly ferocious proto-punk action, including a version of ‘Cock In My Pocket’.
DJ Manny - Green Light LP This 10 track LP is a masterclass in footwork production by one of TEKLIFE’s leading figures, protégé of the late great DJ Rashad
V/A Afterlife (2 LP) The album is a celebration of the life and music of the late, great DJ Rashad and features 15 previously unreleased tracks, each a collaboration between DJ Rashadand friends from the Teklife crew
Sleaford Mods - Austerity Dogs and Key Markets Re-stocks!
JLIN - Black Origami (2 LP) Re-stock!
EXEK - Biased Advice More of this excellent piece of Melbourne darkness on its way. Like excellent era PIL slowly disappearing behind a wall of fog.
More Recent Arrivals In Stock Now:

Roman Nails - All Hardware No Tools 12” Roman Nails is Newcastle born, Melbourne-based producer Cooper Bowman, a long time shop favourite. Experimental but fun minimal techno.
Fatima Al Qadiri - Shaneera 12” Over five energetic club tracks, Al Qadiri explores this dark-sided character with friends Bobo Secret (the leading vocalist on the record), Lama3an, Chaltham, and Naygow, in their debut recorded appearance. The lyrics are suggestive, imploring, shady and loving, some original and some re-recorded material from Grindr chats, online drag and femme comedy skits. The language is a mixture of Kuwaiti and Egyptian Arabic, and one Iraqi proverb, Sonically, the record combines Khaleeji (Arab Gulf), Western drum kits and Arabesque melodies.
